What is Oscar EMR?


OSCAR is an acronym for Open Source Clinical Application Resource. It is a computer program that was developed by medical researchers at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. This computer program helps doctors keep track of:

  • patient history, including immunization records, allergies, etc.
  • scheduling, appointments
  • billing
  • statistics
  • prescriptions
